Question:is the cover removable for machine washing?
Answer:It is but I wouldn't if you dog has been biting it, I have a 10month old great dane & he tends to wrap his mouth around anything, I didn't see any punctures so I broke it down to wash, the cover did fine but I didn't want to put the smelly foam back in so I washed it & it exploded, the casing for the foam didn't show the holes til it was washed, I put the foam in plastic garbage bags to put the bed back together & he seems to like it even more now that it makes funny noises, save yourself from all this & take it to the laundromat & chuck the whole thing in, it dries really quickly, enjoy.

Question:Does it have a removable cover?
Answer:Technically yes, but IF you try to remove the cover, you will barraged with a million cut up pieces of foam. The foam inserts are so weak that when you try to pull the foam pieces out the fabric easily tears and the tiny foam pieces start flying. Impossible to easily remove foam and be able to wash the covering....and then put foam back in. Very disappointing. I order a lot of stuff from Amazon and never review items...I am warning others about this bed.

Question:How thick is it would you sleep on it? I want my fat old dog to get as good a night sleep as i do
Answer:It's about 7 - 8 inches thick, and if it was big enough...yes, I'd sleep on it! Remember, it needs 2 - 3 days to reach that thickness once it's unpacked.
