ASTM D2265 grease dropping point apparatus for dropping point of lubricating grease experiment
Introduction:
The dropping point of a lubricating grease is an indication of the heat resistance of the grease and is the temperature at which it passes from a semi-solid to a liquid state under specific test conditions. It is dependent on the type of thickener used and the cohesiveness of the oil and thickener of a grease.
As grease temperature rises, penetration increases until the grease liquifies and the desired consistency is lost. Dropping point is the temperature at which a grease becomes a fluid enough to drip. The dropping point indicates the upper temperature limit at which a grease retains its structure, not the maximum temperature at which a grease may be used.
Working condition:- Environmental temperature 0~35ºC, relative humidity≤85%.
- The apparatus should be put on the horizontal worktable with sufficient illumination
- Rating voltage: AC220V±10%,frequency:50Hz±1.
- Grounding condition must be good.
