The ripening of the fruit is very temperature-dependent; when conditions are too cool, or too hot, the ripening, or maturation of the fruit slows down considerably. Planting tomatoes in a greenhouse, however, allows you to increase your harvest by controlling the temperatures and by reducing the risk of pests and diseases.
