FAQ

Paintball ?

Paintball is an intense, exciting sport that has taken the world by storm and is now one of Australia's fastest growing sports. Paintball has been described as a combination of Cops & Robbers, Hide and seek, with a little bit of Chess throwern in.

Paintball is an extreme game that has thousands of players nationwide. There are more than ten organizations that sponsor events throughout the country at different venues. Though the inventors of this game created it just for fun, this game has grown.

What's a Paintball?
Paintballs are small balls made with a thin gelatin shell & Filled with a biodegradable, coloured filling to leave a coloured mark on the opposing players when the impact on them. The Paintballs are propelled by markers powered by compressed CO2 gas.

Sounds Great. But is it Safe?
All players are provided with a specifically tested and approved face mask & goggles which must be worn while out side of the safety zone. All commercial Paintball fields have specially trained refs to ensure that the players follow the rules and don't do anything which could harm them selfs or others. With this in mind it is worth noting that the American Insurance industry statistics show that a Paintball player is 13 times LESS likely to sustain an injury than if they were playing Net ball. Also, most injuries that occur are caused by tripping or falling over,(ie Bruises & Strains,) NOT from being marked by the Paintball markers. All in all, Paintball is a very safe sport when played under proper supervision by trained refs. If you play Paintball or are thinking of playing checkout Durty Dans Safety.faq, courtesy of Warpig.

The game has a very low injury rating. We rank safer than feetball, basketball, golf, and (statistically speaking), it's safer than staying home. The reason the game is so safe is the procedures we all adhere to. We may disagree on details, but all paintball players agree that you must wear paintball approved goggles when you go onto the field to play.
