Hydroxyethyl Methyl Cellulose (HEMC) also known as MHEC, Methyl Hydroxyethyl Cellulose, are water soluble nonionic cellulose ethers, which are offered as free flowing powder or in granular form cellulose.

HEMC/MHEC can be used as high efficient water retention agent, stabilizer, adhesives and film-forming agent in Construction, tile adhesives, cement and gypsum based plasters, liquid detergent, and many other applications.

 PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES:

Gelation temperature is different for different grades. For example, among 60RT Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, 60 is gelation temperature, Namely, 2% water solution will form gelation at 60%.

Use of Hydroxyethyl Cellulose Ether:


Hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose (HEMC) is widely used in water-based latex paints, construction and building materials, printing inks, and oil drilling. It functions as a thickener and water retention agent, improving workability and is used in dry and wet mortar products.
Pharmaceuticals can be used as hydrophilic gel skeleton materials for preparing sustained-release agents, pore-forming agents, and coating agents. They can also be used as thickeners, suspending agents, dispersants, adhesives, emulsifiers, film-forming agents, and moisturizers in formulations.
Food processing can also be used as a binder, emulsifier, film former, thickener, suspending agent, dispersant, and water-retaining agent.
In the daily chemical industry, it is used as an additive in toothpaste, cosmetics, detergents, etc.
It is used as a coagulant and water-retaining agent in cement, gypsum, and lime, making it an excellent additive for powdered building materials.

Application Guide:
Hand Plastered Gypsum

1.
It is its workability and water retention. Plaster gypsum has excellent workability and water retention, ensuring complete hydration reaction after plastering with plaster gypsum.
2.It has good expansibility and adhesiveness. The good workability and fluidity of plaster gypsum make the slurry easily penetrate into the gaps and uneven seams of the walls. After the sauce hardens, it undergoes slight expansion, ensuring a tight bond between the plaster layer and the base layer. This enhances the bonding strength and prevents shrinkage stress, ensuring that there are no hollow spots or cracks due to drying.
3.There is its moisture removal and absorption performance. Typically, after hardening, gypsum plaster possesses a unique porous network structure that allows for good moisture removal and absorption. This is beneficial for the drying of aerated concrete itself, thereby avoiding differential shrinkage caused by varying internal moisture content due to the "ink bottle" structure of aerated concrete.
