What's the different with the needle?
When using a needle, the sharp tip of the needle penetrates through the skin and down to the depth where the filler is injected. In contrast to this, a cannula has a blunt tip, and therefore cannot pierce the skin. A needle is required to make an entry point for the cannula that just passes through the skin.
What Use for ?
Its length and flexibility mean that a cannula allows for in areas such as the jawline. It can also be a good solution for patients who are nervous about needles, as far fewer injections are required.
Hyaluronic acid gel is a commonly used skin/soft tissue filler in cosmetic dermatology. Hyaluronic acid fillers are packaged in proprietary luer-lock syringes that can be injected via a 30-gauge, 27-gauge or larger diameter needle depending on the consistency of the gel.
