The earthing switch refers to a mechanical grounding device that releases the static electricity of the equipment and the circuit under inspection and to ensure the personal safety of the maintenance personnel during power outage maintenance. It can withstand current for a certain period of time under abnormal conditions (such as short circuits), but does not pass load current under normal conditions. It is usually part of an isolating switch.
Working principle of earthing switch
The grounding switch has the ability to close and short-circuit current. When the ground fault of the line is removed, the shallow supply current of the fault line is formed through adjacent running lines. The closing function of the fast grounding switch is used to eliminate the shallow supply circuit, and then quickly open Disconnect the grounding switch to ensure that the automatic reclosing of the line can be successful.
In general, the fast grounding switch is installed on the side of the outgoing isolation switch close to the line. It has two major functions. One is to break the parallel overhead line due to the capacitive current generated by classical induction and the inductive current generated by electromagnetic induction; and the other is , When the insulator inside the shell has creepage or arc inside the shell, the fast grounding switch will quickly ground the conductive main circuit and cut off the fault current through the breaker.
The role of earthing switch
There are two types of grounding switches, namely, maintenance grounding switches and fast grounding switches. The maintenance grounding switch configuration is located next to the isolating switches on both sides of the circuit breaker, which only serves the purpose of grounding on both sides of the circuit breaker during maintenance. The fast grounding switch configuration, located on the side of the outgoing circuit where the sound insulation switch is close to the line, has two functions: 1.opening and closing the parallel overhead line due to electrostatic induction and current induction generated by electromagnetic induction; 2.when inside the housing When the insulator of the insulator has a creepage phenomenon or an arc is burned inside the shell, the fast grounding switch will reduce the main circuit to ground quickly, and cut off the fault current through the circuit breaker.
