Features and applications

The strength and hardenability of steel are higher than that of 15 steel. After carburizing, it can be directly quenched. The carburized layer has high surface hardness and wear resistance, but it has large deformation during heat treatment, temper brittleness, high cold deformation plasticity, good weldability, and good machinability after annealing. It is generally used as carburizing steel and also as low carbon martensitic steel. It is mainly used to manufacture parts with high working speed, small cross section but high requirements for strength and toughness in the center, and surfaces subject to wear, such as gears, cams, slide valves, pistons, bushing crank pins, piston ring couplings, shafts, bearing rings, etc. It can also be used as low-carbon martensite quenched steel to manufacture parts that do not have strict requirements for deformation but require strength and toughness
