White Fused Mullite
Fused Mullite is produced by fusing high purity alumina and silica together in an electric arc furnace in the proper ratios. The resulting product is characterized by its dendritic (needlelike) shape and unique thermal properties. Fused Mullite has a low coefficient of thermal expansion which results in a product with excellent thermal shock resistance and resistance to deformation under load.
Fused Mullite is used for many applications including investment cast shell building, kiln furniture, glass contact refractories, and other applications requiring a high purity raw material with excellent thermal shock resistance and hot strength, like metallurgy, ceramics, constructions, chemicals, electricity and foundry.
White Fused Mullite, is a first quality refractory material, composed of massive crystals of mullite which are formed during cooling after fusion. It confers high melting point, excellent thermal stability, low reversible thermal expansion, low porosity, high resistance to thermal shock and chemical corrosion at high temperatures.
