Description

Ferrous oxalate (Iron(II) oxalate), also known as ferrous oxalate, an organic compound with the formula FeC2O4 and a molecular weight of 143.86. Stable under normal temperature and pressure, light yellow crystalline powder, slightly irritating. Ferrous oxalate is decomposed by heating into ferrous oxide, and carbon dioxide for use as photographic developers in the pharmaceutical industry.

It is obtained by the reaction of ammonium oxalate with ferrous sulfate.

First, ammonium oxalate and ferrous sulfate crystals were dissolved in water and filtered.

The ammonium oxalate solution is then added to the ferrous sulfate solution, which is continuously stirred in a stainless steel reaction pot to produce a pale yellow precipitate of ferrous oxalate.
Stand for 8-10h, separate the supernatant, centrifuge the ferrous oxalate slurry, wash it in hot water, and dry it at 85-95ºC to become the finished product.

Each ton of product consumes 800kg ammonium oxalate (content 450-500g/L) and 1560kg ferrous sulfate (95%).

Applications

1, battery grade ferrous oxalate can be used as battery cathode material lithium iron phosphate raw material.

2, used as a photographic developer;

3. Used in pharmaceutical industry.
