Typical grade 430:   Cr content: 14%-18%;

It is the most widely used type of ferritic stainless steel, contains higher chromium, has better corrosion resistance, and most of its properties are similar to 304. An alternative to Type 304 stainless steel in some applications, generally with adequate corrosion resistance for indoor use. Typical uses include washing machine drums, interior panels, etc. Typical 430 is often used as a 304 replacement material in kitchen facilities, dishwashers, pots and pans, etc.

High-quality ferritic stainless steels have been around for many years, and a series of commercial grades with excellent performance have been formed.
430 stainless steel used to be the only approved ferritic grade in the early days, but the use of this grade by early users, especially in the case of brazing or severe corrosion conditions, did not receive sufficient technical support, and some incidents occurred. As a result, the misunderstanding of the poor performance of ferritic stainless steel and the excellent performance of austenitic stainless steel was formed later.
In fact, ferritic stainless steel has been improved very early. The full support of modern technology and the increase and diversification of steel grades can guarantee the performance to meet the needs of users. The performance of ferritic stainless steel can be compared with that of austenitic stainless steel. In fact, ferritic stainless steels are becoming a better choice than more expensive materials under many conditions. This type of stainless steel is more suitable for some environmental conditions with special requirements, and the performance is neither high nor low, just meeting the requirements.
