Properties: White powder or white crystal, the melting point is 190 centigrade. It is soluble in water showing acidity. It decompounds sodium pyrophosphate anhydrous at 225-250 centigrade, and becomes sodium metaphosphate at 350-400 centigrade. It is slightly hygroscopic.
