Production Method
Industrial production methods include phosphorus trichloride hydrolysis and phosphite method.
The hydrolysis method slowly adds water dropwise to phosphorus trichloride under stirring for hydrolysis reaction to generate phosphorous acid, which is refined Chemicalbook, cooled and crystallized, and decolorized to obtain finished phosphorous acid.
Its PCI3+3H2O→H3PO3+3HCl production process produces hydrogen chloride for recycling, which can be made into hydrochloric acid.

Stability Related
1. It is slowly oxidized into orthophosphoric acid in the air and decomposed into orthophosphoric acid and phosphine (highly toxic) when heated to 180ºC. Phosphorous acid is a dibasic acid, its acidity is slightly stronger than phosphoric acid, and it has strong reducibility, which can easily reduce Ag ions to metallic silver and sulfuric acid to sulfur dioxide. Strong hygroscopicity and deliquescence, corrosive. Can cause burns. Irritating to the skin. Placed in the air, it deliquesces and is easily soluble in water. When the temperature is higher than 160ºC, H3PO4 and PH3 are generated.
2. Stability: stable
3. Forbidden mixture: strong alkali
4. Avoid contact conditions: hot, humid air
5. Aggregation hazard: no aggregation
6. Decomposition product: phosphorus oxide
