Product Description

Gum Rosin, also called colophony or Greek pitch, is a solid form of resin obtained from pines and some other plants, mostly conifers, produced by heating fresh liquid resin to vaporize the volatile liquid terpenecomponents. It is semi-transparent and varies in color from yellow to black. At room temperature rosin is brittle, but it melts at stove-top temperatures. It chiefly consists of different resin acids, especially abietic acid.

Product Parameters

Gum Rosin Raw Material
It is used in printing ink as color carrier, as welding flux and for polishing in metal processing, as an additive in soap, food, antiseptics and germicides

In Adhesive Industry:

Rubber based adhesive, synthetic resin based adhesive and vegetable adhesive all have rosin as one of their ingredients.

In the paint industry:
Rosin as a natural resin with abundant sources, is easily dried and smooth on its surface. It will continuously be the basic raw material for paint producing.

In printing ink industry:
rosin is mainly used as color carrier of the ink and to increase its adhesion to paper. Without rosin in the ink, the presswork will be blurred.

In the Papermaking Industry:
Sizing agent made from rosin can prevent ink from dispersion, improve the strength and smoothness and enhance abrasion resistant of the paper.

In the rubber industry:
rosin is used as a softening agent to make the rubber soft and easy for kneading, make the filling agent easily dispersed.
