Doramectin, this product is white or white crystalline powder, odorless, and hygroscopic. This product is soluble in chloroform and methanol, and very slightly soluble in water. Doramectin is used for the treatment of ectoparasitic diseases such as nematode diseases and mites of domestic animals. It is produced by the fermentation of a new strain of Streptomyces avermitilis, which is genetically recombined. The main difference from ivermectin is that the C25 position is cyclohexyl. Instead, it is a new, broad-spectrum antiparasitic drug that is highly effective against gastrointestinal nematodes, lung nematodes, euglena, lice, ticks, mites and wound maggots, and against internal and external parasites, especially certain nematodes (roundworms) And arthropods also have a good repellent effect, but it is ineffective against tapeworms, trematodes and protozoa. Its mechanism of action is mainly to increase the release of the inhibitory transmitter gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) of the worm, thereby blocking the transmission of nerve signals, making muscle cells lose the ability to contract, and causing the death of the worm. The peripheral neurotransmitter of mammals is acetylcholine, which will not be affected by doramectin. Doramectin does not easily penetrate the blood-brain barrier and has minimal damage to the central nervous system, making it relatively safe for livestock. The main feature is that the blood concentration and half-life are both higher or twice as long as ivermectin. The United States has approved injections for cattle and pigs and pouring agents for cattle.
