Maintenance of the oil separator
The oil separator is a component that separates the screw lubricating oil from the compressed air. Under normal operation, the service life of the oil and gas separator is about 3000 hours, but the quality of the lubricating oil and the filtering accuracy of the air affect its life, Have a huge impact.
It can be seen that the maintenance and replacement cycle of the air filter element must be shortened in the harsh environment, and even the installation of a pre-air filter is considered.
The oil separator must be replaced when it expires or the pressure difference between the front and back exceeds 0.12Mpa.Otherwise, the motor will be overloaded, the oil separator will be damaged and the oil will run out.

How to repair or replace the oil separator?
- Open separator container and replace separator filter.
- Make sure the new filter is the same size as the old filter, no matter how long or short, make sure to adjust the length of the scavenger.
- Be sure to use the shim provided, as these shim contain metal conductors, which prevent the accumulation of static electricity in the separator, which may cause sparks or explosions in the separator vessel.
Replacement steps of the built-in oil separator:
- Stop the screw air compressor, close the outlet of the air compressor, open the drain valve, and confirm that the system has no pressure.
- Disassemble the pipeline above the oil and gas barrel, and at the same time remove the pipeline from the outlet of the pressure maintaining valve to the cooler.
- Remove the oil return pipe of the air compressor.
- Remove the fixing bolts on the oil and gas barrel, and remove the upper cover of the oil and gas barrel.
- Remove the oil and gas separator and replace it with a new one.
- Install them in the order of removal.

Scavenge line does not reach into internal bowl at the base of the separator.
Result: high oil carry over
End of scavenge line seats against base of bowl forming a seal. No oil, or an insufficient quantity is sucked up by the scavenge line. Compressor manufacturer's gap clearance is normally 1 to 2 mm alternatively, ensure tapered cut to end of scavenge line.

Some compressor models are fitted wit a small stainless steel mesh filter at some point in the scavenge line which is to be cleaned on a regular basis. If not cleaned the filter will block resulting in no scavenge action.

Allows atmospheric air to be ingested and insufficient or no oil removed from separator.
