How does the energy regulator work? The energy regulator can control the temperature of the heating element by adjusting a long or short time interval and repeatedly turning on and off the circuit. The energy regulator is mainly composed of a heated bimetallic sheet and a quick acting component (i.e. a switch spring with contacts). When the heating element is turned on, the bimetallic sheet begins to heat, and the current flows parallel to the heating resistance of the cooking area. This causes the bimetal to be heated, which changes shape and triggers the associated contact. When the control shaft position rotates, the built-in cam changes the distance between the bimetallic plate and the regulator contact.
