Barite powder, also known as barium sulfate powder, has a chemical composition of BaSO4, and the crystal is a sulfate mineral of the orthorhombic (orrhombic) crystal system. It is often thick plate-like or columnar crystals, mostly dense block or plate-like, granular aggregates. When it is pure, it is colorless and transparent. When it contains impurities, it is dyed into various colors, with white streaks, glass luster, and transparent to translucent.

Application : Barite is mainly used in petroleum, chemical, paint, filler and other industrial sectors, of which 80 to 90% is used as a mud weighting agent in petroleum drilling.
