Description
Kidney Funtion Self Test IVD Diagnostic Test MAU rapid test is a rapid visual immunoassay and the test is used as a method to diagnose diabetic nephropathy. MAU occurs when the kidneys leak small amounts of albumin into the urine. The persistent presence of small amounts of albumin in the urine (microalbuminuria) may be the first indicator of renal insufficiency. Urinary excretion of 20 ~ 200 μg/mL is considered microalbuminuria. In diabetic patients, a positive result may be the first indicator of diabetic nephropathy, in which case early diagnosis and treatment are particularly important to avoid renal dysfunction. In addition to renal insufficiency, urinary microalbuminuria can also be caused by urinary tract infections, hypertension and cardiac insufficiency
- Albumin urine test - checks for albumin, a protein that can pass into the urine if the kidneys are damaged
Why might I need a kidney function test?
Some conditions, such as diabetes or high blood pressure (hypertension), affect how well the kidneys work. If you have one of these conditions, your healthcare provider may use kidney function tests to help monitor these conditions.
You may also need a kidney function test if you have symptoms that indicate possible kidney problems. These symptoms might include:
- Blood in your urine (hematuria).
- Painful urination (dysuria).
- Frequent urge to urinate.
- Problems with starting to pee.
