The bacteriostatic action of sodium propionate wet acid preservative is affected by environmental pH. The minimum inhibitory concentration was 0.01% at PH5.0 and 0.5% at PH6.5. In acidic medium, it has a strong inhibitory effect on various molds, aerobic Bacillus or Gram-negative Bacillus. It has special effect on preventing aflatoxin production, but has little effect on yeast. In addition, it is also used as a preservative for food.
