High aluminum brick is a kind of refractory material, the main component of this refractory brick is Al2O3.
If the Al2O3 content is higher than 90%, it is called corundum brick. Due to different resources, national standards are not entirely consistent. For example, European countries stipulate that the lower limit of Al2O3 content for high aluminum refractories is 42%. In China, according to the Al2O3 content in high aluminum bricks is usually divided into three grades: 1. -- Al2O3 content >75%; 2.-al2o3 content is 60 ~ 75%; 3. -- Al2O3 content is 48 ~ 60%.

The Feature:
A. Refractoriness
The refractoriness of high aluminum brick is higher than that of clay brick and semi-silicon brick, up to 1750~1790ºC, which is a high-grade refractory material.
b, load softening temperature
Because the Al2O3 in high aluminum products is high, the impurity is less, the formation of fusible glass body is less, so the load softening temperature is higher than the clay brick, but because the mullite crystallization does not form a network organization, the load softening temperature is still not high as silicon brick.
c, slag resistance
There are more Al2O3 in high aluminum bricks, close to neutral refractory materials, which can resist the erosion of acidic slag and alkaline slag, because it contains SiO2, so the ability of anti-alkaline slag is weaker than the ability of anti-acid slag.
Application:
Mainly used for laying blast furnace, hot blast furnace, electric furnace top, blast furnace, reverberatory furnace, rotary kiln lining. In addition, high alumina brick is also widely used as open hearth regenerative lattice brick, plug head for pouring system, water brick and so on. However, the price of high aluminum bricks is higher than that of clay bricks, so there is no need to use high aluminum bricks where clay bricks can meet the requirements.
