Hi... both sides are useful on any type of electronic screen. The towel side has a slightly "grippier" texture and is good for removing heavier fingerprints and smudges. Then the smooth side is smoother and good for a final buffing. But the difference in the two sides is slight, so either side does a good job. I love mine... use them often on my phone, tablet, TV, etc.
I use the black side on those type of surfaces as it is best for cleaning (dirt, fingerprints, or smudges). The blue side works best for lighter cleaning (polishing or dusting).
