Performance characteristics
(1) Because calcium soap and water form hydrates, only in the form of hydrates can calcium soap form highly dispersed fibers in mineral oil. The hydrates of calcium soap hydrolyze at about 100 ºC, which is the reason why the calcium base grease gradually loses its consistency above 100 ºC, which limits the temperature range of calcium base grease. Generally, the temperature is not more than 60 ºC. If the temperature is exceeded, the calcium-based grease will become soft or even lose, so the lubrication cannot be guaranteed.
(2) Calcium base grease has good water resistance and is not easy to emulsify and deteriorate when passing through water. It can be used for lubrication of various mechanical parts in wet environment or in contact with water.
(3) Calcium base grease has good shearing stability and thixotropy stability. When it is agitated and then still in use, the grease can still remain on the action surface, producing sealing effect without throwing out.
