Procaine penicillin is the procaine salt of penicillin, and its antibacterial active ingredient is penicillin. Penicillin has good antibacterial activity against Streptococcus such as Hemolytic Streptococcus, Streptococcus pneumoniae and Staphylococcus without penicillinase. Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Neisseria meningitidis, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Bacillus anthracis, Actinomyces bovis, Streptococcus candida, Listeria, Leptospira and Treponema pallidum are susceptible to this product. This product also has antibacterial activity against Haemophilus influenzae and Bordetella pertussis. This product has good antibacterial effect on anaerobic bacteria such as Clostridium spp., Peptostreptococcus and Bacteroides melanogenum, and has poor antibacterial effect on Bacteroides fragilis. Penicillin exerts its bactericidal effect by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Due to the low blood concentration of this product, its application is limited to mild and moderate infections caused by highly sensitive penicillin pathogens, such as tonsillitis caused by group A streptococcus, scarlet fever, erysipelas, Streptococcus pneumoniae pneumonia, penicillin-sensitive gold Boils, carbuncles, and angina caused by Staphylococcus. The product can still be used for the treatment of leptospirosis, relapsing fever and early syphilis.
