Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride Film-Coated Tablets:
Indicated for the treatment of urinary tract infections caused by sensitive bacteria, including acute pyelonephritis. Ciprofloxacin and ciprofloxacin rapid release tablets are not interchangeable.Simple urethral infection (acute cystitis) : caused by Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus saprophyticus A.Complex urinary tract infection: caused by Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterococcus faecalis, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa A.Acute simple pyelonephritis caused by e. coli.A: In studies to treat organ infections caused by this pathogen, fewer than 10 subjects were involved.The safety and efficacy of this product in the treatment of infections other than urinary tract infections have not been demonstrated.Bacterial cultures and susceptibility tests should be performed before drug treatment in order to isolate and identify the bacteria causing the infection and determine whether they are sensitive to ciprofloxacin.This product may be used until test results are available, and should not be used until results are available for ciprofloxacin treatment.Periodic bacterial cultures and drug sensitivity tests during treatment provide information not only on the efficacy of treatment but also on the likelihood of bacterial tolerance.
