This instrument is designed for collecting and detecting partial discharge signals emitted from insulation defects in electric equipment. The absence of discharge signals does not necessarily indicate the absence of discharge activity in the equipment, as discharge sources often have a latent period and insulation performance may also fail due to other reasons beyond partial discharge. If significant discharge is detected in equipment connected to medium and high voltage power systems, the relevant responsible units should be notified immediately.
Partial discharge is a sign and manifestation of insulation deterioration in power equipment, and it is also the cause of further insulation deterioration. Since the consequences of insulation breakdown are often serious, it is particularly important to conduct partial discharge detection on power equipment. The local discharge of electrical equipment belongs to electrical discharge that will not completely short-circuit the electrodes.
Although the amplitude of this discharge is usually small, it can continuously degrade the insulation performance and may eventually lead to failure. Live partial discharge detection provides a fast and simple method to identify potential insulation faults that may cause power outages or personnel injuries.
This instrument uses high-frequency detection technology to measure partial discharge and comprehensively applies computer technology, ultrasonic, radio frequency, transient waveform sampling technology, analog electronic technology, high-speed signal acquisition technology, and advanced digital signal processing technology.
It is developed based on the Linux operating system platform, providing 2D and 3D maps of partial discharge, amplitude phase spectrum waveform, and discharge signal quantification value. By statically or dynamically observing and analyzing the partial discharge pulse waveform of a single or multiple cycles in detail, the partial discharge condition of electrical equipment can be evaluated well. It is suitable for daily inspection of the insulation performance of high-voltage cables, power transformers, and other electrical equipment. It has the characteristics of high sensitivity and strong adaptability and can effectively detect related insulation defects. It is an ideal tool for state detection of power equipment during live operation.
