Ampicillin, also known as ampicillin, is a β-lactam antibiotic, which can treat a variety of bacterial infections. Indications include respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, meningitis, Salmonella infection, and endocarditis. It can also be used to prevent B group of bacteria infections in newborns, which can be administered via oral, muscle injection and intravenous injection.
