Action category treatment of sensitive bacterial infections.
Indications Amoxicillin is indicated for the following infections caused by sensitive bacteria (non-beta-lactamase producing strains) :
1. Otitis media, sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis and other upper respiratory tract infections caused by streptococcus hemolysis, streptococcus pneumoniae, staphylococcus or Haemophilus influenzae.
2. Urinary and reproductive tract infections caused by escherichia coli, Proteus mutans or Enterococcus faecalis.
3. Skin and soft tissue infection caused by streptococcus hemolytic, staphylococcus or escherichia coli.
4. Lower respiratory tract infections such as acute bronchitis and pneumonia caused by streptococcus hemolytic, streptococcus pneumoniae, staphylococcus or Haemophilus influenzae.
Acute simple gonorrhea.
6. This product can also be used for the treatment of typhoid fever, typhoid carriers and leptospirosis; Amoxicillin can also be used in combination with clarithromycin and lansoprazole to eradicate helicobacter pylori in stomach and duodenum and reduce the recurrence rate of gastrointestinal ulcer.
Adverse reactions 1. Gastrointestinal reactions such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and pseudomembranous enteritis.
2. Allergic reactions such as rashes, drug fever and asthma.
3. Anemia, thrombocytopenia, eosinophilia, etc.
4. Serum aminotransferase may be slightly increased.
5. Double infections caused by candida or drug-resistant bacteria.
6. Occasional central nervous system symptoms such as excitement, anxiety, insomnia, dizziness and abnormal behavior.
Contraindicated for patients with penicillin allergy and positive penicillin skin test.

Precautions 1. Oral penicillins may occasionally cause anaphylactic shock, especially in patients with a history of allergy to penicillin or cephalosporins. A detailed history of allergy and skin test for penicillin must be conducted before use. In case of anaphylactic shock, emergency treatment should be carried out, including airway unblocked, oxygen uptake and treatment measures such as epinephrine and glucocorticoid.
2. Patients with infectious mononucleosis are prone to rash after using this product, and should be avoided.
3. Patients with a long course of treatment should be examined for liver and kidney function and blood routine examination.
4. Amoxicillin can cause false positives in urine sugar tests with Benedit or Fehling reagents.
5. Use with caution in the following cases:
(1) Patients with allergic diseases such as asthma and hay fever.
(2) Dosage may need to be adjusted for the elderly and severe renal impairment.
Animal reproductive tests of pregnant and lactating women showed that 10 times the human dose of amoxicillin did not damage the fertility of rats and mice and the fetus. However, there are insufficient controlled studies in humans, and since animal reproductive tests cannot fully predict human reactions, pregnant women should only use this product when it is really necessary. As a small amount of amoxicillin can be secreted in milk, nursing mothers may lead to infant allergies.
Children's daily dose according to body weight 20-40mg /Kg, once every 8 hours; For infants under 3 months of age, daily dose should be 30mg/Kg of body weight once every 12 hours.
The elderly should take 0.5g medicine once for adults, once every 6-8 hours, and the daily dose should not exceed 4g.
Drug interactions 1. Benemedicine competitively reduces renal tubule secretion of the drug, and the combination of the two causes increased blood concentrations and extended half-life of amoxicillin.
2. Chloramphenicol, macrolides, sulfonamides and tetracycline interfere with the antibacterial effect of amoxicillin in vitro, but its clinical significance is unknown.
Overdoses in a prospective study of 51 pediatric patients suggest that amoxicillin does not cause significant clinical symptoms when administered at doses up to 250mg/Kg. It has been reported that renal insufficiency and oliguria were caused by amoxicillin overdose in a small number of patients, but the renal damage was reversible after withdrawal of amoxicillin.
