PVC Resin , or PVC for short, was one of the first plastics to be industrialised and currently ranks second only to polyethylene in terms of production.
PVC has gained widespread use in industry, agriculture and everyday life.
PVC Resin is a polymer compound made by polymerising PVC Resin . It is thermoplastic. It is a white or light yellow powder. Relative density 1.35 to 1.40. Chlo-rine content 56% to 58%. Melting point about 70-85°C. Soluble in or swollen by ketones, esters, tetrahydrofurans and chlorinated hydrocarbons. Has excellent chemical resistance. Thermal stability and light resistance is poor, above 100 ºC or long time sunlight exposure began to decompose hydrogen chloride, the manufacture of plastics need to add stabilizers. Excellent electrical insulation, will not burn. Used in plastics, paints and synthetic fibres. Depending on the amount of plasticizer added, soft and hard plastics can be produced. The former can be used to make transparent films (such as mackintoshes, tablecloths, packaging materials, agricultural film, etc.), artificial leather, foam and wire coverings. The latter can be used to make plates, pipes, valves, doors and windows. By suspension polymerisation, powdered resins are obtained. Polymerisation by the emulsion method results in a paste resin. All can be used to make soft or hard plastics.

Properties:
PVC resin is the most widely raw material used in plastic production. It has good chemical stability, corrosion resistance and water resistance. It can be dissolved in ace-tone, hydrochloric ether, ester and some alcohol. It can offer good solubility, good electrical insulation, thermo plasticity and membrane forming capacity.
1. SG-3: Films, raincoat, industry packing, artificial leather, hose and shoe-making material, etc.
2. SG-5: Rigid plate, gramophone record, value and welding rod, PVC pipes, PVC windows, doors ,etc.
3. SG-8: Good hardness and high strength, mainly used for tubes and pipes
Applications:
It is widely used in the production of water pipe, chemical pipe, plastic windows and doors, packing film, plastic carpet, plastic ceiling, sanitary fitting, leatheroid, plastic wallpaper etc.
