STPP PRODUCT:
A kind of sodium metaphosphate polymer, it is transparent glass flake or white powdery crystal. It has strong hygroscopicity; it becomes sticky after absorbing moisture, it is easy to be humid in the air, and it is easily soluble in water. The solubility in water is greater, but the dissolution rate is slow; the aqueous solution is acidic. Easy to hydrolyze or become phosphite. It has the ability to form or dissolve complexes for some metal ions (calcium, magnesium), so it can be used to soften water, and it can also form complexes with lead, silver, and barium salts.
Application:
1.In Food:
The uses of stpp include using it as a preservative. Sodium Tripolyphosphate STPP can be used to preserve foods such as red meats, poultry, and seafood, helping them to retain their tenderness and moisture. In foodstuff industry it is used as quality improver in the process of canned food, fruit juice drinks, foodstuffs from milk or soybeans.
