Ophindazole is a benzimidazole anthelmintic, also known as oxyphenidazole, orphenidazole, benzyl sulfoxide imidazole, benzothioxazole, is the sulfoxide form of benzothioxazole, white or off-white powder at room temperature, with a slight special odor, it can destroy the microtubule structure of the epithelial cells of gastrointestinal worms, and inhibit the uptake of glucose from the intestine. Ophindazole is used for the treatment and control of adult and larval gastrointestinal worms, and is very effective in the treatment of roundworms and lungworms in pigs, cattle and sheep, including Oestes nematodes, blood spear nematodes, hairy round nematodes, fine neck nematodes, gubernatorial nematodes, capillary nematodes, dentate esophageal mouthworms, hairy head flagellate nematodes and reticulocytes.
