Chemical formula: SnS, greyish brown or greyish black powder with lamellar micro-structure, density 4.87g/cm, content ≥99%, melting point 882°C, Mohs hardness 5.5-6.5. Its excellent lubricancy can significantly improve brake pad and disc life while being able to reduce pad wear at high temperature level. Stannous sulfide can be used as excellent stabilizer of friction coefficient and binder under extreme high temperature. Ak-MASTE mass production test results show that it can significantly improve the friction coefficient of brake pads in the first fading with excellent recovery under high temperature and high speed level so that the formula has more stable braking performance. This material is more suitable for the European HAMS high temperature and high speed test requirements of the formula.
There are more than 10-year development and application experiences in foreign countries while many Chinese brake pad manufacturers have begun to research and apply this product to their products. Independent formulation system can be established around the metal sulfide in friction industry when antimony sulfide and copper sulfide are going to be prohibited in future.
Stannous sulfide has high purity and strong adaptability. It can be mixed with other lubricants, graphite and metal fiber as required.
