Stevioside, also known as stevioside, is a glycoside extracted from the leaves of Stevia rebaudiana. It has the characteristics of high sweetness and low heat energy. Its sweetness is 200-300 times of sucrose, and its calorific value is only 1 / 300 of sucrose


As a new sweetener, stevioside can be widely used in all kinds of food, beverage, medicine and daily chemical industry. Compared with sucrose, stevioside has the following advantages:

Application

1. Stevioside and steviodiglycoside A are used in ice cream and soft drinks; 

2. Stevioside is used to enhance the sweetness of sucrose chloride, aspartame and cyclamate;  

3. Steviol glycoside and its salts can be used to accelerate ripening of fruits and vegetables;

4. Stevioside can be used as aromatic flavor enhancer in food, beverage ;

5. For salt-free storage of foodstuffs;

6. Stevia is used to make hard candies along with lactose, maltose syrup, fructose, sorbitol, maltitol and lactoketose;

7. Stevioside can be used to make chewing gum and bubble gum, as well as candies with a variety of flavors;

8. Stevia can also be mixed with sorbitol, glycine and alanine to produce cake powder;

9. Stevioside can also be used in solid drinks, health drinks, sweet wines and coffee.
