Ethyl p-aminobenzoate, also known as benzocaine, chemical formula is C9H11NO2, is an organic compound. It is a colorless rhomboid crystal, odorless and tasteless. Soluble in alcohol, ether, soluble in almond oil, olive oil, dilute acid, insoluble in water. It is clinically used to relieve pain and itching of wounds, ulcers, burns, skin chafing and hemorrhoids.
