Propy Lene carbonate CAS 108-32-7 (often abbreviated PC) is an organic compound with the formula CH3C2H3O2CO. It is a carbonate ester derived from propy Lene glycol. This colorless and odorless liquid is useful as a polar, aprotic solvent. Propy Lene carbonate is chiral but is used exclusively as the racemic mixture. It is soluble in water and carbon tetrachloriide, and ethyl etheir, chloroforim, acetonie, benzene and other immiscible. It is a good solvent polarity. Melting point is -48.8°C.
