A checkpoint security walk-through x-ray and metal detector scanner is a portable device that can be used to screen passengers and their baggage at checkpoints. The device effectively scans passengers, their baggage, and the objects they carry with it.

The scanning process involves using a high-energy x-ray source to create an image of the scanned object. The image is then displayed on a monitor that shows the details of the scanned object, such as its atomic number or its weight.

The scanner is able to scan both organic and inorganic objects. Organic objects include foodstuffs such as fruits and vegetables; inorganic objects include metallic items such as guns or knives. The scanner also uses different techniques for scanning different types of objects, depending on how much radiation they emit when exposed to x-rays.


Security walk through metal detectors are the most commonly used screening device with mantrap door,
security vestibules or access control portals. Programmable Logic Controllers, or PLCs, control metal detectors. These controllers send signals to doors to open and lock if a weapon has been detected. You can tune door frame metal detectors to detect as little as half a razor blade or as much as a flash drive. This is a valuable tool for maintaining security in places such as schools, government buildings, correctional facilities and IT server farms.
