Description

Graphite electrodes are mainly used in electric arc furnace. They are presently the only products available that have the high levels of electrical conductivity and the capability of sustaining the extremely high levels of heat generated in EAF.

Graphite electrodes are also used to refine steel in ladle furnaces and in other smelting processes.

Graphite electrodes are divided into 3 Types: RP Graphite electrodes, HP Graphite electrodes, UHP Graphite electrodes.

The main causes of electrode consumption are fracture, oxidation, erosion of furnace clean and furnace gas, exfoliation and sublimation under the action of electric arc. In order TO reduce electrode consumption, THE quality of electrode itself and processing should be improved, the smelting time should be shortened, and various accidents caused by improper equipment and operation should be prevented.
