FUXI ® ZINC PAINT

Zinc powder is the most important electrochemical anticorrosive pigment. A primer made with a large amount of zinc powder is called a high zinc primer. High zinc paint is divided into high zinc inorganic primer with silicate as the base material and high zinc epoxy primer with epoxy resin as the base material. Compared with other metals, zinc has its own unique properties. It is lighter than iron and has good ductility. It can fuse with iron. The most important thing is its electrochemical activity. Its standard electrode potential is -0.76V, which is more reactive than iron (-0.44V). High purity zinc powder that can be melted and refined into fine particles,

When the coating is corroded, zinc powder is corroded first as the anode, and the steel matrix is the protected cathode. Zinc, as the oxidation product formed by sacrificial anode, has a sealing effect on the coating, which can enhance the protection of the coating on the substrate. In coatings with higher zinc content, zinc powder is gradually consumed in the protection process, but at a slow rate. The formation of corrosion products reduces the potential difference between the coating and the substrate. When the paint film is damaged, the new zinc metal is exposed, and the potential difference immediately increases, resulting in strong cathodic protection. Therefore, rust of zinc primer will not spread due to damage to the environment.
