Ketotifen is an organic compound with chemical formula C19H19NOS. It is a kind of white crystalline powder, odorless and bitter in taste.Slightly soluble in water or ethanol. It has prevention effect on exogenous, endogenous and mixed asthma, and the effect of childhood asthma is better than that of adult asthma .
Ketotifen is a first-generation noncompetitive H1-antihistamine and mast cell stabilizer. It is most commonly sold as a salt with fumaric acid, ketotifen fumarate, and is available in two forms. In its ophthalmic form, it is used to treat allergic conjunctivitis.In its oral form, it is used to prevent asthma attacks or Anaphylaxis, as well as various mast cell, allergic-type disorders.
Function
It is widely used in a variety of IgE-mediated allergic diseases, including bronchial asthma, asthmatic bronchitis, allergic cough, allergic rhinitis, allergic pollen, allergic conjunctivitis, acute or chronic urticaria, ectopic Dermatitis, contact dermatitis, photosensitive dermatitis, food allergies, drug allergy, insect allergies and so on. For the immune complex caused by vasculitis type lesions such as allergic purpura also have a certain effect.
Application
Captopril is used for the treatment of various types of hypertension, especially for the treatment of intractable hypertension, which is ineffective for other antihypertensive drugs. It can enhance the curative effect with diuretics and has a better effect on patients with high plasma renin activity. Also used for acute and chronic congestive heart failure, better combined with cardiotonic or diuretic.
