How to choose right type, what kind is reliable?
  1. Must cover the wavelength of your laser machine / laser product / laser equipment.
  2. The higher OD value the better.
  3. The wider wavelength ranges the better. Because we need consider both direct and reflection, including diffuse reflection.
  4. Consider the visibility, the higher OD value the lower visibility. If it's safe enough for your laser machine, consider visibility is also important.

How to know the laser protective plate is real or not?
Must pass professional optical test, meet safe standards, with declaration of conformity form.
The laser protective glass provided by our company has passed professional optical test, and the test tools used include but are not limited to: laser power meter, laser, frequency multiplier, UV-visible infrared spectrophotometer, etc. It has also been tested by ESC GmbH in Germany and conforms to the European Union DIN EN 12254:2010 +AC: 2011 standard.

To be easily understood, the following is the simple explain.

Notice: This is a VERY dangerous test, non-professionals are advised not to imitate, consequences shall be borne by the tester.

Shoot laser on SKL-A without extra lens, there appear a laser beam on SKL-A, the power of this beam is very powerful at this time. Then, shield a laser protective board between the laser and SKL-A, the laser beam on SKL-A disappear. This is because the laser is absorbed by the protective plate, which plays as a laser guarder / a laser defender.

The application of laser protective plate?
WHY IT IS SO IMPORTANT? You must know ALL:

Protect workers from REFLECTIVE exposure to CLASS 4 LASERS (CLICK here for laser grades 1-4). Laser protective glass is usually installed on the laser protective window and enclosure, or placed in front of the light emitting area of the laser equipment. Laser protective glass has a certain light transmittance, which can not only observe the progress of the laser equipment but also block a specific range of laser wavelength and reflection lights generated from laser working, so as to effectively protect the human eye and skin.

  1. Most of the danger of lasers comes from heat, but for certain wavelengths, there also exists dangerous photochemical effects.
  2. Using high-power lasers, even the reflected diffuse light can damage the eye.
  3. Focusing a lot of energy on a tiny spot in the retina, damaging photoreceptor cells.
  4. Infrared lasers are particularly dangerous because they can't be seen, it doesn't trigger the blink reflex of eyes; Lasers in the 400-1400nm range penetrate the eyeball and heat the retina. The cornea and lens absorb energy, resulting in cataracts or burns, and even the retina has no pain receptors after been broken! So, with exposed unprotected laser equipment, workers often don't even know they're injured until they notice a vision problem.

Laser protective glass is widely used in laser welding, laser cutting, laser marking, laser guidance instrument, laser range finder and other laser optical systems. Suitable for laser industry, aluminum battery manufacturing, robot manufacturing, automobile manufacturing, laser exercises, laser surgery, medical, photocopier operation and other fields.
