Description

Sodium Cyclamate, white crystalline powder; odorless, sweet. Soluble in water, very slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether and chloroform. It can be used in pharmaceutical excipients and flavoring agents.Appearance and properties White crystalline powder, odorless, 40~50 times sweeter than sucrose. Soluble in water (1g/5mL), slightly soluble in propylene glycol (1g/25mL), insoluble in ethanol, chloroform, benzene and ether. A 10% aqueous solution has a Ph value of 6.5. No moisture absorption, alkali resistance, heat resistance (decomposition temperature 28 ºC), light resistance. Oral LD5018000mg/kg of mice, Adl 0~11mg/kg (FAO/WHO, 1994).
