PT-21 rheological auxiliaries, is a newly developed light yellow organic ammonium modified smectite organic clay, suitable for low - medium polar solvent system of sealant, paint, ink. It has excellent thickening and rheological properties in such systems. Its dispersion ADAPTS to various temperature conditions. Products are similar to bentone-38, 34, claytone-40.

Product Application:
PT-21 is a new organic thickening agent and rheological agent, especially suitable for low to medium polarity system, used in sealing materials, asphalt paint and other anti-corrosion coatings, Marine paint, sealant.
Usage:
PT-21 rheological auxiliaries can be directly added to the grinding process of the product and fully dispersed under the shear action of the grinding (or mixing) material. Pre-gel can also be prepared by traditional methods and then added into the system to disperse.
1. Usage: PT-21 rheological additives in the amount of paint depends on the system required to achieve the thickening effect, rheological control requirements, the proportion of pigment, precipitation degree, the typical amount of paint range of 0.5-2.0%, individual paint such as asphalt elastic coating, paste sealing products, its amount can be in 3-5%, more than the amount of general paint. The optimum dosage of various coatings can be optimized by test.
2. General use in paint:
(1) Add some resin/solvent;
(2) Add PT-21 rheological agent and stir at high speed for 10-20 minutes;
(3) Add 30-50% of the organic soil amount of polar activator (such as 95% ethanol, propylene carbonate, etc.) for 10-20 minutes;
(4) Add wetting agent and constitution material, and grind and disperse (stirring or sanding, etc.) to the desired fineness;
(5) Put other resin solvents and other materials in the formula, grind and mix evenly.
3. General use method in sealant:
(1) adding solvent, elastomer polymer, mixing and dissolution (double helix mixer);
(2) Add body material, mix and wet;
(3) Add PT-21, then add 30-50% polar activator of organic soil content, and mix until fully dispersed;
(4) Add an appropriate amount of solvent to the desired paste consistency.
Packing and storage: the outer packing is in kraft paper bag, the inner packing is in double packing of polyethylene film bag, or in paper bag, the weight is usually 25±0.25kg, or in accordance with the requirements of users. When stored under dry conditions and the temperature is 0~30ºC, the quality validity period is 24 months.
