Description
CBF is a kind of high-tech fiber, which is invented and studied by former Soviet Union for 30 years.

CBF has characters of excellent properties, high price-performance-ratio, wild application area and hopeful future. Especially, China begins to produce CBF massively recent years. So,it is much meaningful for us to join in "the CBF club".

CBF is made of volcanic-basalt. Before the start of production of CBF, a large fraction of basalt is crushed to the required fractions. At the temperature 1450~1500ºC, the required fractions are melt and the molten rock goes through a platinum rhodium bushing. Then, elementary CBF is generated.

Compared with carbon fiber, aramid fiber, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fibers (UHMWPE) and other high-tech fibers, it has many unique advantages, such as good mechanical property, excellent high-temperature resistance, can continuously work under the temperature range of 269 ~ 700 ºC and endure acid and alkali, with high UV resistance, low moisture absorption, and is better in environment resistance property, in addition, it has good insulation property, fine high-temperature filtration resistance, anti-radiation, and good wave-penetrating performance and other advantages. With CBF as a reinforced body, various composites in excellent properties can be made and widely used in fire protection, environmental protection, aviation and aerospace, military project, vehicle and vessel manufacture, engineering plastic, construction and other military and civilian fields, therefore, CBF is known as the 21st century new material.

In recent years, the materials industry and user are more and more optimistic about CBF, due to its good comprehensive properties and cost performance.

Application area
CBF contains K2O, MgO, TiO2 and other ingredients that play important roles to increase fiber's properties of chemical corrosion resistance and water resistance. Comparison of fiber mass fraction loss after 3hrs boil: in water, the loss of CBF is 0.002 and the loss of E glass fiber is 0.007;
In 2N NaOH solution, there were respectively 0.0275 and 0.06; in 2N HCI, the loss of CBF is only 0.022, but the loss of E glass fibers is 0.389. The acid resistance of CBF exceeds that of the generally-used acid-resistant glass reinforced material, ECR glass fiber.
