Description
Speciality

Borax is a soft and light colorless translucent crystal or white crystalline powder. In the chemical composition, it is containing 10 water molecules of sodium tetraborate. Borax is odorless, taste salty. Soluble in water, glycerol, slightly soluble in alcohol, aqueous solution was weak alkaline. Borax in the air can be slow weathering, melting into a colorless glassy material

Applied range

Borax has many uses, such as we are familiar with using borax as disinfectant, preservative, water softener, eye wash water. It can be used as a filler for washing powder and soap, ceramic glaze and glass raw materials etc. In metallurgy industry, borax is used for forging, welding and metal testing, and it's excellent flux; when worker weld metal, It is convenient to purify the metal surface with borax.

It is material of optical glass and enamel. In the glass, it can enhance the ultraviolet transmittance, transparency and heat resistance of glass; in enamel products, borax can make the enamel is not easy to fall off and make it luster; in special optical glass, glass fiber, jewelry adhesive, printing and dyeing, washing (silk and wool), gold refining, cosmetics, pesticide, fertilizer, borax soap, antiseptic, antifreeze and medical disinfectant field have a wide application.

It is the basic raw material for producing borax boron compounds, almost all of the boron compound can be made by borax. They are widely used in metallurgy, iron and steel, machinery, war industry, cutting tools, paper making, electron tubes, chemicals and textiles, etc. boron compounds also play a role in high energy rocket fuels
