Why use tungsten alloy shields?

Compared with traditional shielding materials, such as lead and boron carbide, the shields of the same weight have a smaller volume and the density of tungsten alloy shields is higher. Compared with lead shields of the same weight, the volume of tungsten alloy shields is only 1/3 of lead, but the high density makes it have the same radiation absorption capacity as lead. After the weight is determined, the density is higher, but the thickness of the tungsten alloy is thinner. Due to the high density of tungsten alloy, the thickness of the tungsten alloy radiation protection container is thinner, but the radiation absorption capacity is higher. This is why tungsten alloy becomes the best raw material for tungsten alloy anti-radiation container.

Tungsten Alloy Advantages:

-High density
-Excellent mechanical properties such as high vibration-damping capacity and high Young's modulus.
-Excellent radiation-shielding property
-High thermal conductivity with low thermal expansion coefficient
-Higher high-temperature strength and thermal shock resistance
-High oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance
