Flexible ceramic pad heaters are designed for most preheat and post heat treatment (stress relieving) requirements on weld joined materials. They can be used to construct a simple, inexpensive furnace when combined with the proper insulation as well as in many other applications where a flexible heater is required.
They are designed for repeated heating applications. Their modular design permits a variety of element shapes, sizes, and thermal capacities to choose from. They can be used bare (as supplied) or with the application of rigid or flexible insulation to retain heat and speed up the heat treating jobs
The flexible preheated elements is used for preheating of pipes, pressure vessels etc. The elements are supplied with superwool blanket enclosed in mesh. The blanket is attached to a stainless steel plate which protects from weld splatter. The plate is provided with hooks where magnets can be attached, this makes the elements very easy to mount (elements can also be fasten by banding). The fpe can be used on flat surfaces as well as curved. It is designed to provide preheating up to a temperature of 700° C.
