Sodium gluconate is a sodium polyhydroxycarboxylate, also known as sodium pentahydroxysodium, molecular weight 218.14, white or light yellow crystalline particles or powder, easily soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol and insoluble in ether, with certain salty taste. It is widely used in food, construction, pharmaceutical, water treatment, electroplate, develop industries, etc. With the growth in the living standard and improve on health care consciousness, the requirement on food nutrition and tastes are also increasing. Food industry is now developing to various diets and green foods.

In building industry: as retarder and water reducing agent. Adding certain sodium gluconate in cement can increase the plasticity and strength of the concrete, that is, delay the initial and final solidification time of the concrete;
Used as surface cleaning for steel: if the steel surface needs to be chrome-plated, tin-plated or nickel-plated for special purposes, the steel surface must be strictly cleaned so that the coating and the steel surface can be firmly bonded. Adding sodium gluconate to the cleaning agent will get to ideal results;
Used as special cleaning agent for glass: detergent special for glass bottles using sodium gluconate as main formula can improve the following problems: the detergent is not strong; the nozzle and pipeline of the bottle washer easily blocked; depigmenting powder on bottleneck rust and bottle label not ideal; micro residue after washing affecting food safety; the harm of the discharge washing water;
With perfect antiscale and inhibitor function, it is widely used in water quality stabilizer;
Also widely used in industrial fields like electroplating, film manufacturing, etc.
