What Is AGAROSE?
Agarose is a chain like neutral polysaccharide composed of D-galactose and 3, 6-endoether-l-galactose. The structural unit contains hydroxyl functional groups, which are easy to form hydrogen bonds with hydrogen atoms in the structural unit and surrounding water molecules in the chain segment. Main properties At low temperature, agarose sugar chains rely on hydrogen bonding, intertwine with each other in a double helix way, forming a double helix structure, closely arranged, forming a gel, white turbid; At high temperature, the hydrogen bonds in the structural units are broken and dispersed in the water as random clusters. The solution is clear and transparent, and it is a polymer with special temperature response.
