PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES:

*Appearance: White or quasi-white fibrous or granular powder, odorless and tasteless.
*Solution: Almost insoluble in ethanol, ether, chloroform (1: 1) in the mixture can form a clear or suspended viscous solution. In 80-90 ºC hot water rapid swelling, cooling after rapid dissolution, water dissolution at room temperature is quite stable, high temperature gel, It undergoes a reversible transition from gel to dissolution after heating and cooling.
*Characteristics: Excellent wettability, dispersion, adhesion, thickening, emulsifying, water-holding and film-forming, and oil impermeability. The film has excellent toughness, flexibility and transparency. Because it is non-ionic, it can be compatible with other emulsifiers, but it is easy to be salted out and the solution is stable in the range of pH 2-12.
*Density: 1.3 g / cm, Apparent density: 0.25-0.7 g / cm%.
*discoloration temperature: 190-200 ºC.
Carbonization temperature: 225-230 ºC.
*Surface tension: 25 ºC 47-53 dyn / cn.

Application Guide:

Methylcellulose is mainly used as a thickener, adhesive, and crack resistant agent in construction. The following are the commonly used functions of methyl cellulose in architecture:
1,Thickener: Methylcellulose can increase the viscosity of building materials such as water-based coatings, mortar, and cement, improve their consistency, and make them easier to apply and brush.
2,Adhesive: Methylcellulose plays an important role in the bonding of wall and floor tiles, increasing the adhesion and waterproofing of the bonding material, ensuring that the tiles are firmly fixed on the wall and floor.
3,Anti cracking agent: Methylcellulose can increase the content of cellulose fibers in materials such as cement, mortar, and concrete, thereby enhancing the anti cracking performance of building materials. This cellulose fiber can effectively control the shrinkage of building materials and prevent the generation of cracks.
4,Binder: Methylcellulose can serve as a binder and act as a glue in building materials. It can increase the surface adhesion of materials, improve their tensile strength and durability.
 

Use:
Methylcellulose is a non-ionic cellulose ether, which has four important functions: thickening, surface activity, film forming and hot gel forming (melting when cooling). This product can be used in coating film-forming agents, pharmaceuticals, and pharmaceutical fields.
