Fiber lasers are great for all metal substrates, and a handful of nonmetal materials such as plastics, ceramic & porcelain tile, leather and dark colored or dark painted wood. You can't use a fiber laser with glass, crystal or light colored paper and wood materials because the wavelength of light isn't absorbed well.
